Developers makes clear unfilled Wii plan

Nintendo has explained why we have an empty Wii software agenda for 2011.

NOA boss Reggie Fils-Aime told IGN (via Eurogamer) that it has had to pay attention to the releases of both Nintendo 3DS R4 and Pokemon Black & White.

"We have experienced to effectively get ready for the launch of r43ds and also effectively organize the launch of Pokemon Black & White," he explained.

"Candidly, we've pushed out some Wii launches therefore we can target our handheld business. We're already juggling two big balls. So as to add one third would have been a small amount challenging. Or a fourth or possibly a fifth."

Fils-Aime assured there will likely be "content coming" for the Wii that'll be revealed before and with this year's E3 conference in June.

"We're waiting to space things out and let Pokemon Black & White and 3DS SuperCard live and exhale there," he explained.

"But there's content coming and we'll be sharing more in the weeks ahead. We'll be bringing some content out before E3 and certainly at E3 we'll be sharing some news."

Designers going Zero-Tolerance along with 3DS Piracy?

The Nintendo 3DS card would be a major target of game piracy. Nintendo was extremely irate with this fact. Multiple tries to legally curb the sales of piracy devices did little, so Nintendo has decided to get extreme.

One of many development goals in the R4 for Nintendo 3DS were to have better piracy prevention methods. What Nintendo originates on top of is potentially dangerous to all consumers.

While nothing too specific has been disclosed, a Japanese retailer called "Enterking" has informed its consumer base that it's going to not buy back any 3DS SuperCard units who have had piracy devices utilized in them.

Can they figure that out? Rumors say that this 3DS can track the adventure of cartridges placed in it. Hence, it could detect and log when official games and unofficial cartridges have been used in these devices. It seems Nintendo will supply retailers with techniques to check units for illegal activity.

Besides that, Nintendo offers to issue firmware updates towards 3DS later on. They warn people who after usage of unofficial or illegal devices, firmware updates might lead to one's body to "brick" (become inoperable).

Although this is certainly a plausibly effective option to stop the standard of pirates (cheap those who do not know any better), there are several conditions that could arise with this.

If Nintendo has some kind of automatic kill switch inside the 3DS, who's to convey it cannot accidentally be triggered? There are devices which aren't official, such as the involve the illegal nature of piracy. In america specifically, we have various cheat devices that offer code editing in games to get infinite lives, unlimited health, along with beneficial or fun tweaks.

This could potentially affect consumers' warranties when the shut-down procedure is accidentally triggered. Nintendo may decline to fix any units that turn off using this method. Consumer confidence may very well be ruined.

Besides, it may not be like their anti-piracy measure is unstoppable. The Wii had similar issues initially when hackers began implementing it. Eventually, they found ways round the brick factor and between firmware updates. Possibly, hackers will find out the spot that the activity log is kept and ways to clear it or prevent data from being recorded.

The DS demographic involves many people who don't get technology well, so there's a strong likelihood of mistakes being made. I hope Nintendo knows it and helps to create policies which might be empathetic towards innocent, naive people.

3DS paths as well as disables pirate container make use of

Apparently illegal flash cartridges seem to be in circulation in Japan, variants within the infamous R4 cartridge to the 3dsr4. These allow pirates to download 3DS SuperCard games via their PC, use them on the flash cart then play them just like they were an average game - but no longer.

After sporadic reports Nintendo 3DS card consoles were becoming unusable after having a flash cartridge was played to them, Japanese retailer Enterking assemble the following warning high on its website - as (roughly) translated by GoNintendo:

'In case should you use equipment that is illegal or unapproved by Nintendo or if you customisation and that is unapproved by Nintendo, we have a possibility that Nintendo 3DS become non-bootable by system update.'

Quite simply should you use pirated software and hardware Nintendo will disable your console with a firmware update (otherwise known as 'bricking').

This can without a doubt cause pirates and Nintendo to enter into a continuous game of hacks and updates but it really does seem which the 3DS will be a good deal harder to jog pirate games on compared to DS was.
